Yarn Bombing event in Pughe's Paddock

Date: Sat 07 May, 2022

Time: 10:00

Yarn Bombing event in Pughe's Paddock

It's a phenomena that's sweeping the world. Join us in Pughe's Paddock for a Yarn-Bombing day, creating pieces and decorating the park in all manner of woollen arts. No prebooked tickets required - just drop in.

BCAF are celebrating being back this year and want to offer a community project everyone can get involved with to create some street art thats make us all smile. This will remain in place for the duration of Burbage Festival at Pughes Paddock.

Extending our theme from the Childrens art exhibition, the vision is to bring the community together to celebrate with a theme: "Art to warm the heart’, Togetherness & Making people smile."

But wait! You don't have to hang on until the day... Calling all creative crafters, community groups and wanna be yarn artists of all ages, Why not make a start now? You can begin preparing your yarn creations (ideas, below) and leave any pre-makes or yarn donations at the Burbage Library by 1st May. Opening times are as follows:

  • Monday: 2-5pm
  • Tuesday: 2-5pm
  • Thursday: 10-1pm, 4-6pm
  • Saturday: 10-1pm

If you or your group would like to be more involved or could help with stitching together between 1st and 7th May please let us know by contacting Nicola on 07734 664800.

Then, join us on 7 May in Pughes Paddock for our Burbage Yarn Bomb between 10am and 3pm where you will be able to create and further add to the display.

We are really pleased and excited to welcome Natalie and Mel, the creators of the Cosby Yarn Bomb who are planning and delivering this event.

Just a few ideas, below, as well as 15cm/6 inch knitted or crocheted patchwork squares, scarf lengths 10cm/4 inch pom-poms, smiley faces and even painted rocks! All in bright, uplifting colourful designs,  decorating the trees, benches, railings & planters in Pughe’s Paddock.

Refreshments will be available from Really Awesome Coffee Hinckley who will be standing their coffee van nearby to Pughes Paddock just outside the infant School, offering hot and cold refreshments and snacks for sale.
