ABOUT THE EVENT
Lots going on today.

After a successful first outing back in May 2022, Burbage Festival (and friends) are back to "yarn bomb" Pughe's Paddock, with the theme, "The Four Seasons".
Come and admire other crafters' work, and you can join in, too.
On hand will be 1st Burbage Guides, who are running workshops and will be happy to offer help and guidance.
Entry and participation is free, no ticket required, just turn up! But if you'd like to make a donation to the Guides on the day, any monies go straight into organising activities that benefit the girls directly.

What can you make to add to the Paddock? We’d love to see lots of colourful Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn displays. The brighter the better!
Suitable for all ages (including children with adult supervision).
Fancy a nice hot drink while you're here? Often seen in and around Burbage and Hinckley, the Really Awesome Coffee Van will be in Pughe's Paddock, today. They will be serving their rather excellent barista coffee, tea, hot chocolates, smoothies and various snacks.

At 11:00AM, See Sarah's Shelby Stars, who are a performing arts group for young adults/children with SEND.
They have been established for over 20 years and are a fun and enthusiastic arts/dance group.
Today from 11AM, they will be performing a short dance routine of many of their favourite pop songs over the decades, and proving that arts can be accessible to all.

At 12:00, music will be provided live by the band Take It From the Top, singing a number of well known songs, also in Pughe's Paddock
There will be some other "pop-up" events happening in Pughe's Paddock and around, throughout the day. More details to follow.
All the events taking place in Pughe's Paddock today are Freeee!
Meanwhile, just down the road...
Ukuladies (playing at Connect Methodist Church)

"We are four friends who each bought a ukulele (or 2) and began meeting on an informal basis to have some fun playing together. It turned out that people quite liked what we did and we were invited to play our first ‘gig’ at a fundraiser in a back garden. We then decided to form a little group and the Ukuladies was born. Since 2022 we have become regular visitors at various nursing homes and other venues across the region and in doing so have raised several hundred pounds for good causes.
Having fun is still at the heart of what we do and we are delighted to have been invited to be part of BCAF this year.
We love playing together and so do others it would seem….
"A time of music, singing & fun by four talented ladies, who gave a very enjoyable presentation of songs from the last 50+ years, with lots of participation by a very enthusiastic audience. Not to be missed! Invite them to sing at your event - you won't be disappointed!”
Be sure to also visit the Children's Art Exhibition on Windsor St at Connect, in the Burbage Methodist Church, which is running at the same time.
We have a wide variety of musical performances lined up for this year's festival, and are pleased to be kicking off our 2024 program with a local singer/songwriter Benji Williams, at the Farmers' Market just in front of Connect, between 9 and 11AM.
Also at the Farmers' Market, come and say "hello" to some of the Burbage Festival team, too (lurking under a bright yellow gazebo somewhere...).
Refreshments and loos in Connect, too!
