ABOUT THE EVENT

A whole series of events in and around Burbage Library, today!

Gordon Landsburgh – Street Artist

  • I am not Banksy!

  • My tag name is Mig29. I grew up as an RAF kid and loved the fast jets!

  • I started spray painting graffiti in 1993. I have been making street art for over ten years.

  • I use artists spray paints, markers, emulsions and acrylics depending on the setting and suitability for the piece I am working on.

  • This is my income stream. I work on corporate advertising and mural painting for private clients as well as signage.

I use the Doodle grid method mainly to mark out work accurately. I write over the canvas and take a photo, then overlay my image so that I can see the writing and image. I take a screenshot of this and then use this reference to mark out before I then begin to paint.

We use this method along with traditional grids, projectors, pounce stencil sheets and even meta headsets to mark out on a large scale. I am available for commission work.

Ukuladies

In their own words: "We are four friends who started playing ukulele together in 2022, formed a group and called ourselves ‘The Ukuladies’. Over the last last three years we have been invited to play at many events, including fundraisers, private parties and care homes and are very proud to have been able to donate over £1500 to good causes. We play four different types of ukulele and include a variety of instruments and vocal harmonies to add to our performance. We love entertaining and making people smile through a mixture of music, song and humour…our audiences seem to agree!

'Thank you to the Ukuladies for visiting our home for an afternoon of entertainment. '

'We had a wonderful time at your concert and enjoyed singing and dancing along to your fabulous singing and ukulele playing'

“The Ukuladies were excellent and the audience was invited to join in with the songs”

'Brilliant. Lifted my spirits!' "

The Pierce Perspective

Nestled in the heart of Burbage, Leicestershire, The Pierce Perspective is a pioneering charity that blends mental health advocacy, nature-based therapies, and community engagement to make a tangible difference. From therapeutic gardens to educational workshops and engaging community events, we empower individuals and families to thrive emotionally and mentally, creating sustainable change for future generations.

Two sessions are on offer this afternoon:

Session 1- Flora. A foliage garland /nature adornment workshop using seasonal greenery and natural materials (fully plastic-free).

Session 2 - Flora and Fauna. An air-dry clay session where participants press leaves and natural textures into the clay to create patterns and shapes to take home.

Both of these sessions are hands-on, accessible for mixed ages, and align strongly with the Flora and Fauna theme and our sustainable ethos.
