ABOUT THE EVENT

We are delighted that the Joanna Eden Quartet are returning to BCAF this year, to perform an unforgettable evening of song, storytelling, and sublime musicianship.

Joanna has appeared with Sam Smith at the BBC Proms and has headlined at Ronnie Scots, Pizza on the Park and The Stables, founded by Cleo Lane and Johnny Dankworth.

She presents an evening of songs by three of the most distinctive voices in 20th-century song writing: Stephen Sondheim, Burt Bacharach and Joni Mitchell.

Moving between musical theatre, classic pop and iconic folk songs, the programme highlights the craft and character of each writer — from Sondheim’s incisive storytelling to Bacharach’s melodic precision and Mitchell’s lyrical depth.

Joanna reimagines these classics with elegance, intimacy, and heartfelt authenticity. Accompanying herself at the piano, she brings clarity, musical intelligence and an understated approach to these enduring songs

Whether you love the drama of musical theatre, the sparkle of 60s pop,  or the introspective song writing of the 1970s, this is an evening that will move and inspire you.
